New drug could let Sunlight-Sensitive patients enjoy the outdoors again

Summary
This study is testing whether an investigational drug called bitopertin can help people with rare genetic conditions (EPP or XLP) that cause severe pain from sunlight exposure. Researchers want to see if taking bitopertin for 6 months allows participants to spend more time in the sun without pain. The trial will compare bitopertin against a placebo in about 150 people aged 12 and older.
