Summary
This Phase 3 trial is testing whether an oral drug called bitopertin can help people with rare blood disorders (EPP or XLP) spend more time in sunlight without experiencing painful skin reactions. About 150 participants aged 12 and older will take either bitopertin or a placebo pill daily for 6 months while tracking their sun exposure and symptoms. The main goal is to see if the drug increases pain-free time in the sun and reduces certain blood markers linked to the condition.
