Brain wave test may spot deadly pregnancy condition earlier
NCT ID NCT02578810
First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests whether a brain wave monitor (BIS) and two blood markers (sFlt-1/PIGF ratio and adrenomedullin) can more accurately grade the severity of preeclampsia, a dangerous pregnancy condition. Researchers will enroll 48 pregnant women with or at risk of eclampsia to see if these tests can predict risk better than current methods. The goal is to improve early detection and prevent serious complications for mothers.
