First seen Nov 25, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study compares two birthing positions—semi-sitting versus lying flat (lithotomy)—in 70 first-time mothers. Researchers will measure pelvic floor muscle strength and perineal pain shortly after birth and again at 6 weeks and 6 months postpartum. The goal is to see if an upright position leads to better recovery and less discomfort.
