First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tested a new type of birth control vaginal ring that releases two hormones (nestorone and estradiol) to prevent ovulation. 197 healthy women aged 18-39 with regular periods used the ring for 3 cycles. Researchers measured how well it controlled bleeding and stopped ovulation. The goal was to find the best dose for effective pregnancy prevention.
