Summary

This study aims to see if long-term use of a BiPAP breathing support machine can improve the function of the diaphragm, the main breathing muscle, in people with advanced COPD. Researchers will follow 30 patients for a year, using ultrasound to measure the diaphragm and tracking hospital visits and survival. The goal is to learn if this common treatment can help patients breathe better and stay healthier.
