New biologic patch aims to keep kneecaps in place after first dislocation

NCT ID NCT06169800

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a special biologic scaffold (Biobrace) to standard ligament repair can lower the chance of another kneecap dislocation in people aged 13–30 who have had a first-time dislocation. About 20 participants will receive the augmented repair and be followed for at least a year to see how many have a repeat dislocation. The goal is to improve healing and stability without needing more invasive surgery.
