New biologic combo shows promise for lupus kidney patients

Summary
This study compares two newer biologic drugs (belimumab and telitacicept) against the standard treatment (mycophenolate mofetil) for people with active lupus kidney disease. About 50 adults with biopsy-confirmed lupus nephritis will receive one of three treatment plans for six months. The goal is to see which approach best improves kidney function and reduces protein in the urine, while monitoring side effects.
