Can a drug combo stop stent infections after stone surgery?
NCT ID NCT07301294
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether combining an antibiotic (linezolid) with a mucus-dissolving agent can reduce the sticky bacterial film (biofilm) that forms on ureteral stents placed after kidney stone surgery. About 100 adults who are stone-free and have a stent for one month will be randomly assigned to receive the drug combo or standard care. The goal is to lower infection rates and improve patient comfort.
