French hospitals stockpile patient samples to prepare for future outbreaks

Summary
This study is creating a large collection of leftover blood, urine, and other samples from hospitalized patients. The goal is to use these samples to develop and test faster diagnostic tools for new infectious diseases and potential biothreats. No extra tests or procedures are needed from participants—researchers only use samples already taken for routine care. This biobank aims to help health systems respond more quickly to future epidemics.
