Common blood test could speed up diagnosis of dangerous appendicitis
NCT ID NCT07291882
Summary
This study looked at whether a routine blood test for bilirubin (a liver-related substance) could help doctors quickly tell if a patient's appendicitis is likely to be severe or complicated. Researchers analyzed data from 400 patients who had surgery for appendicitis. The goal was to see if this simple, fast, and cheap test could help make better and faster treatment decisions.
