First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looked at 400 people with liver cirrhosis who had large or complex bile duct stones that couldn't be removed during a first procedure. Researchers compared four different types of plastic stents to see which one helped clear the stones best during a second procedure and caused the fewest side effects. The goal was to find the safest and most effective stent for this high-risk group.
