New stent offers hope for kids with swallowing problems
NCT ID NCT07373522
Summary
This study tested if a small, expandable metal tube (a biliary stent) could be a good alternative to major surgery for children with a narrowed esophagus (food pipe). Forty children were randomly assigned to get either the stent placed by a scope or to have traditional surgery. The main goal was to see which group had a shorter hospital stay and fewer complications over three months.
