New stent placement method tested to keep bile ducts open longer
NCT ID NCT07325877
Summary
This study is testing two different ways to place plastic tubes (stents) to open blocked bile ducts in patients with cancer. The goal is to see if placing the stent above a certain valve (suprapapillary) works better and lasts longer than the standard method that goes through the valve (trans-papillary). Researchers will measure how long the stents stay open and working, and compare the safety and success of both procedures in 70 patients.
