Heat zaps tumors in bid to extend lives of bile duct cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07235007

Summary

This international trial is testing if a procedure that uses heat to destroy tumor tissue inside the bile duct can help people with advanced bile duct cancer live longer. All participants receive a standard three-drug treatment. Half will also get the heat treatment (called endobiliary RFA) during their stent placement procedures. The main goal is to see if adding this local heat therapy improves survival compared to standard stenting and drugs alone.
