New keyhole surgery could ease back pain without major cutting

NCT ID NCT07045714

First seen Mar 09, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests a new, less invasive surgery for people with lumbar spinal stenosis, a condition that causes back and leg pain. The surgery uses a small camera and tiny tools to relieve pressure on nerves through a single small cut. Researchers will track pain, disability, and recovery in 78 adults over 12 months to see if this approach is safer and leads to faster healing than traditional open back surgery.
