Hernia surgery showdown: should doctors fix the silent side?
NCT ID NCT07289490
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looks at adults with a groin hernia on both sides, where one side causes symptoms and the other does not. Researchers want to see if repairing both sides at once leads to similar long-term pain and safety as fixing only the painful side. About 2,200 participants will be tracked using Sweden's national hernia registry to help doctors decide the best approach.
