Common kitchen ingredient tested to ease difficult births
NCT ID NCT07321379
Summary
This study is testing if drinking a simple bicarbonate solution can help first-time mothers whose labor is progressing too slowly. Researchers want to see if this reduces the need for emergency C-sections or deliveries using forceps or vacuum devices. About 1,520 women will receive either the bicarbonate drink or a placebo, and their birth outcomes and experiences will be compared.
