First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study involves 160 critically ill ICU patients who cannot eat by mouth but can start tube feeding within 48 hours. Researchers will take blood samples to check for gut injury markers and use ultrasound to measure stomach movement after giving warm water. They will then track whether patients develop feeding intolerance within 7 days, aiming to find early warning signs.
