New cancer drug targets two proteins at once in early trial
NCT ID NCT07181681
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-phase trial is testing a new drug called BG-C0902 in people with advanced solid tumors that have not responded to standard treatments. The drug is designed to attach to two proteins (EGFR and MET) often found on cancer cells and deliver a toxic payload directly to them. The study will first find a safe dose and then look for signs that the drug can shrink tumors.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
BG-C0902 (an antibody-drug conjugate that targets EGFR and MET proteins on cancer cells and delivers a chemotherapy-like payload)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for people with advanced solid tumors that have not responded to other therapies.
What could go wrong
This is a very early (Phase 1) trial with only 63 participants, so the drug may not be safe or effective. Side effects from the chemotherapy-like payload are possible, and the drug may not shrink tumors.
