Gauge vs. guess: can a simple tool stop Post-Surgery sore throats?
NCT ID NCT07427173
Summary
This study aims to see if using a special pressure gauge to manage the air tube in a patient's throat during surgery leads to fewer throat problems afterward, like sore throat or hoarseness. It will compare this gauge method to the common practice of just feeling the tube by hand. Researchers will enroll 104 adults having planned surgery to see which method works better for patient comfort.
