Study aims to get newborns home sooner from opioid withdrawal
NCT ID NCT05980260
Summary
This large, completed study compared two common ways to give medicine to babies born with opioid withdrawal (NOWS). It tested whether giving medicine only when symptoms appear works better than a scheduled daily dose that slowly decreases. The main goal was to see which approach helps babies get medically ready to leave the hospital sooner, while keeping them safe.
