New tech aims to sharpen cancer pain treatment, reduce fracture risk

NCT ID NCT07171996

Summary

This study is testing a new computer planning method for a procedure that places tiny radioactive seeds into painful bone metastases from cancer. The new method uses two types of computer simulation—one for radiation dose and one for bone strength—to try to place the seeds more precisely. Researchers want to see if this leads to better pain relief and fewer complications, like fractures, compared to the standard planning method.
