Two scans better than one: new approach to pinpoint deadly pneumonia causes
NCT ID NCT07308340
Summary
This study aims to improve how doctors identify what's causing severe pneumonia. Researchers will compare two imaging approaches: CT scans alone versus CT scans combined with bronchoscopy (a camera inserted into the lungs). They will look at medical records from 400 patients to see which method is more accurate at telling whether pneumonia is caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, or non-infectious conditions.
