New oxygen mask could make risky heart valve surgery safer
NCT ID NCT07059728
Summary
This study is testing if a special high-flow oxygen mask is better than standard oxygen at preventing breathing problems in older, high-risk patients having a minimally invasive heart valve replacement (TAVR). The goal is to see if this better oxygen delivery reduces complications like kidney injury, stroke, or heart failure after the procedure. Researchers will compare the two oxygen methods in 452 patients across eight hospitals in Barcelona.
