New scan combo aims to spot hidden cancer spread

NCT ID NCT05389306

Summary

This study aimed to find a better way to diagnose whether small lymph nodes in the neck contain cancer that has spread from nasopharyngeal carcinoma (a type of head and neck cancer). Researchers tested a combination of MRI scans and a special contrast-enhanced ultrasound on 348 patients. The goal was to create more accurate criteria to identify these small metastases, which could help guide more precise treatment.
