AI-Powered 3D heart scan could improve leaky valve diagnosis

NCT ID NCT07528781

First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study is testing a new artificial intelligence software that uses 3D ultrasound images to measure how much blood leaks through a faulty heart valve (mitral regurgitation). The goal is to see if this new method is more accurate and reliable than the standard 2D ultrasound approach. About 200 people with moderate or severe mitral regurgitation will have both a 3D ultrasound and a cardiac MRI, and the results will be compared to find the best way to diagnose the condition.
