Scientists test tech to help you hear in a crowd
NCT ID NCT05260307
Summary
This study aims to improve hearing aids so users can better understand speech and locate sounds in noisy, multi-talker environments like restaurants or parties. Researchers are testing three specific hearing aid features: boosting high-pitched sounds, using a speech enhancement algorithm, and improving how sounds are positioned in space. The study involves 220 adults, both with normal hearing and hearing loss, who will listen to speech sounds and report what they hear under different hearing aid settings.
