Hidden stones: new scan aims to prevent second surgeries after weight loss
NCT ID NCT07453186
Summary
This study aims to improve how doctors check for gallbladder problems in people about to have weight-loss surgery. Researchers will compare a standard external ultrasound with a more detailed internal ultrasound done during the surgery itself. The goal is to see which method is better at finding small gallstones or other issues, so patients who need preventive medicine can be identified correctly and avoid a risky second surgery later.
