New scan aims to sharpen target for esophageal cancer radiation

NCT ID NCT06408116

Summary

This study is testing whether advanced PET scans can more accurately map the borders of early-stage esophageal cancer. Researchers will compare scan results from 30 patients to tissue samples taken during surgery. The goal is to see if better imaging could allow doctors to target radiation more precisely, potentially reducing damage to nearby healthy organs like the heart and lungs.
