Summary
This study aims to develop a faster, more accurate blood test to detect infection in dead pancreatic tissue (infected pancreatic necrosis) in people with severe pancreatitis. Researchers will combine two advanced techniques to tell if an infection is present, helping doctors give the right antibiotics sooner and avoid unnecessary ones. The study will enroll 200 patients across four hospitals.
