New stitch in time could prevent C-Section scar woes

NCT ID NCT07229222

Summary

This study tested if a specific way of stitching the uterus closed during a first-time C-section could prevent a common scar defect called a 'niche.' 380 first-time mothers were randomly assigned to receive either the new interrupted stitch method or the standard continuous stitch. The main goal was to see which method resulted in fewer women developing this scar defect six months after delivery.
