Oral pill beats injection at preventing Post-Surgery blood clots

NCT ID NCT07243080

Summary

This study compares two blood-thinning medications to prevent dangerous blood clots in the legs after emergency abdominal surgery. Researchers are testing whether an oral pill (rivaroxaban) works better and is safer than the standard injection (enoxaparin). The trial involves 212 adult patients who will take one of the medications for 7 days after surgery and have leg ultrasounds to check for clots.
