Dutch hospitals launch major push to protect newborns from unnecessary antibiotics

NCT ID NCT06845332

Summary

This study aims to help Dutch hospitals use antibiotics more carefully in newborns suspected of having a serious early infection (early-onset sepsis). It will implement three proven strategies to guide doctors on when to start, adjust, and stop antibiotic treatment. The goal is to reduce the total number of days newborns receive antibiotics while ensuring they remain safe.
