New safety check aims to spot risky breathing problems before surgery
NCT ID NCT07493356
Summary
This study aims to find better ways to predict which obese patients might have difficulty having a breathing tube placed during surgery. Researchers will test a standard questionnaire (STOP-BANG) along with simple physical checks of the mouth and neck during pre-surgery assessments. They will then see how well these predictions match the actual ease or difficulty of placing the breathing tube in the operating room.
