NCT ID NCT03775096

First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether carvedilol, a drug used for heart failure, can reverse early heart abnormalities seen in people with REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD) who are at high risk for Parkinson's disease. Fifteen participants will take carvedilol and have heart and brain scans to see if the drug can protect nerve cells and possibly slow or prevent Parkinson's. The goal is to learn if treating these early changes can delay the disease.
