Timing is everything: study pinpoints best window for pancreatic stone procedure
NCT ID NCT05270434
Summary
This study aimed to find the best time to perform a follow-up endoscopic procedure after using sound waves to break up painful stones in the pancreas. Researchers compared doing the follow-up procedure on the same day versus waiting until the next day in 220 adults with chronic pancreatitis. The goal was to see which timing led to better success in clearing the stones and fewer complications.
