First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looked at 400 people with liver cirrhosis who had large or complex bile duct stones that couldn't be removed during a first procedure. Researchers compared using one or two plastic stents to see which approach worked best for clearing the stones in a follow-up procedure and caused fewer complications. The goal was to find the safest and most effective way to manage these difficult stones in high-risk patients.
