First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looked at 450 surgery patients to find the best breathing machine setting (PEEP) to prevent lung collapse after surgery. Doctors used a simple ultrasound scan to check the lungs before and after surgery. The goal was to see which PEEP level reduced the risk of lung collapse and low oxygen levels.
