Study seeks safer way to start labor when water breaks early

NCT ID NCT07366359

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to start labor for pregnant women whose water breaks at term (37-42 weeks) before labor begins naturally. Researchers will compare two common methods: using a vaginal insert to soften the cervix first, followed by an IV medication if needed, versus starting with the IV medication alone. The goal is to determine which approach leads to more successful vaginal births and better outcomes for mothers and babies.
