Hospital data hunt aims to save lives from sudden gut crises
NCT ID NCT04577339
Summary
This study looked back at the electronic health records of about 2,500 adult patients treated for sudden, serious gut problems between 2013 and 2020. The goal was to understand which treatments—like major surgery, minor surgery, or non-surgical care—led to the best survival rates and outcomes for different groups of patients. By analyzing this data, researchers hope to create clearer guidelines to help doctors choose the right care path for future patients with similar emergencies.
