New drug may help kidney cancer patients avoid immediate treatment

Summary
This study tests whether the drug belzutifan can help control metastatic clear cell kidney cancer in people whose cancer is slow-growing and who would normally just be watched. About 78 adults with no prior treatment will either take belzutifan or continue active surveillance. The goal is to see if the drug delays the need for stronger treatments and is safe.
