Light vs. electricity: race to fix facial paralysis

NCT ID NCT07266636

Summary

This study aims to find out whether light therapy or electrical stimulation works better for helping people recover from Bell's palsy, a condition that causes sudden facial weakness. Researchers will compare these two non-invasive treatments in 34 people who recently developed moderate to severe facial paralysis. Both treatments will be given alongside standard facial exercises to see which one leads to better recovery of facial movement and symmetry.
