Simple exercises before neck surgery may prevent swallowing problems

Summary

This study looks at whether a behavioral program started before surgery and continued for six weeks after can improve swallowing and voice in people having anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) surgery. Fifty adults will be enrolled. They will complete swallowing tests, voice recordings, and questionnaires before and after surgery to see if the program helps.
