Can a daily beetroot shot tame high blood pressure and protect kidneys?
NCT ID NCT07290842
Summary
This study is testing whether drinking beetroot juice, which is rich in natural nitrates, can help lower blood pressure and improve blood flow to the kidneys in people with high blood pressure and early-stage kidney damage. About 20 participants will drink either real beetroot juice or a placebo juice for two weeks, then switch after a break. Researchers will measure changes in 24-hour blood pressure and kidney function to see if the juice helps.
