First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This small study will test whether a beetroot-based drink helps trained athletes sprint faster and maintain power across repeated sprints. Ten healthy athletes will try the beetroot drink and a placebo, with a week in between, to see if the natural nitrates in beets improve performance. The main focus is on average power output during six short, intense sprints.
