First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tested two ways of bathing intensive care patients to see which better reduces a hard-to-treat germ called VRE. 210 adults were randomly assigned to get either a chlorhexidine solution bath or antibacterial wipes. Skin swabs were taken over three weeks to track VRE levels. The results could help hospitals choose the best method to prevent infections.
