New collagen implant could boost meniscus repair outcomes

NCT ID NCT06041763

First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a special collagen implant (BEAR) during meniscus tear surgery leads to better healing and less pain than standard repair alone. About 80 adults with isolated meniscus tears will be randomly assigned to receive either the implant or usual care. Researchers will track knee function, pain, and repair failure over time.
