First test of new drug for rare, severe skin disorder begins

Summary
This is the first study in people of an experimental drug called BCX17725 for Netherton Syndrome, a rare and serious genetic skin condition. The main goal is to check the drug's safety, how the body processes it, and the right dose. It will first test single and multiple doses in healthy volunteers, then test multiple doses in adults and teenagers with the condition to see if it improves their skin redness, scaling, and itching.
