First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests whether making the BCG vaccine available every day at health clinics—instead of only certain days—can reduce early infant deaths. About 22,800 newborns in rural Guinea-Bissau will be followed until 42 days old. The goal is to see if earlier vaccination cuts non-accidental deaths by 25%.
